Head Trainer, Cobi, takes on Australian Ninja Warrior.
Cobi is the Head Trainer of CrossFit Abode, which is located at 12 Swan Crescent, Winnellie, and will be open for business in just over a weeks time.
Cobi is an athlete at heart. Growing up on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, he played basketball and Aussie Rules throughout his childhood.
He was always searching for adventure, and in 2005, he enlisted in the Army as a Rifleman. During his service, he was deployed multiple times to such locales as Timor and Iraq.
Even among his fellow servicemen, he became known for his physical fitness and his passion for helping others. He became a Physical Training Instructor within the Army in 2008, and in 2009, he discovered CrossFit.
In 2010, Cobi and his wife Deana launched their first gym, CrossFit Albury Wodonga. Cobi qualified for Regionals in 2012, placing 46th in the region. At the time, he was still full-time in the Army, and faced with a tough decision. He decided to sell CrossFit Albury Wodonga in order to continue serving.
He worked at CrossFit Brisbane with Matt Swift in 2013, learning the true potential for CrossFit. In 2014, he transferred to the Army Reserves and became Head Trainer at CrossFit Dromana.
Trained by his brother-in-law, Rob Forte, Cobi went on to place 5th at Regionals as part of Team Reebok CrossFit Frankston.
Cobi transferred back into the Regular Army in 2015 and began training at CrossFit Top End. Today he owns and is Head Trainer of CrossFit Abode out of Darwin. Since 2015, Cobi has been the MC of the Reebok CrossFit Games Pacific Regional.
Cobi holds qualifications in Olympic Weightlifting, Mobility, Strongman, CrossFit Kids and is a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer.
And now Cobi is an Australian Ninja Warrior! Cobi prepared for Ninja Warrior with CrossFit, which builds a great base to perform any physical task.
Cobi will also be running CrossFit Kids classes on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, how cool would it be for the kids to be trained by Captain America! Click the link to watch his run!
